Yeti Engine?

Featured Replies

Hi Colin and all Skoda aficionados

Glad to be part of the family and very pleased to see Colin clinging to a boulder in the Peak District!

Simple question, difficult answer. I am going to swap our second car - an Audi A3 - to a Yeti - we already run a 2012 SE+ 4x4 110 as our primary vehicle.

The key question I am wrestling with is which engine to go for? Do I actually really need a 4x4 (winter tyres seem a better option on a 2wd for the few weeks when the roads are really bad in the Peak District?) I do 18k a year, mostly A/B road or Mway, 60 mile commute during the week. I love driving diesels and due to my daily thrash am not concerned about DPF issues, also I adore driving a diesel now after years of enjoying the characteristics and that low down diesel pull. I will definitely get either an Urban or an Elegance - being emotionally swayed by the desire for xenons especially for for the winter as most of my driving is either at dawn or dusk on unlit roads. But is it 1.2 TSi (really averaging 38?) , 1.6 Greenline, 110/140 or 170? Lovely overtaking or economical chugging?

Happy New Year to all of Skoda  and please help me decide!

....Lovely overtaking or economical chugging?....

Hi Skybluebakewell (someone will choose a shorter nickname for you if you don't!).

Whichever you like.  140/170 diesels give you both.
