Hi all, i have a 10 plate skoda superb with a columbus sat nav and i would like to be able to put in full post codes. Do i need a firmware update or newer maps or both? Is there an official skoda firmware update available on the web or would i need to visit a dealer?

Dependant on what firmware you have at the moment, you'd need to update the units firmware, and also some updates will require maps reloading as well so take the opportunity to get yourself into a new set of maps as well.

When I got my 58 plate Elegance the Sat Nav had the 4 digit postcode and old maps, I rang Skoda about a service and an update of the Sat Nav, they agreed that if I had it serviced by them they would upgrade the Columbus 7digit software and the latest maps for free otherwise it was a charge of about £100, after weighing up the cost of servicing at other garages, which wasn't much less and the cost of buying the software from elsewhere it was a bit of a no brainer, also they have update my maps for me everytime I have it MOTed or serviced by them since!
