heater fan speed knob

Featured Replies

I have noticed on 2 courtesy cars that the led illumination on the fan speed knob has become faulty (the illuminated segments don't light up). A minor issue but both the cars were low mileage 2014 registered cars. Has anyone experienced this fault as it suspiciously looks like it could be a common issue.

It's not a fault, they're not meant to light up.

Can be activated using VCDS

When set to auto the led in the fan speed knob turns off unless you manually turn the know to raise or lower the speed. And yes someone with vcds can activate so it's on all time. I did it to my car.

Mine lights up each segment as and when the dial is rotated. This was how i received my new car. The 2 other cars operate similar but on certain segments the led doesnt illuminate. But rotate past that segment and the remaining lights illuminate. Heater in manual mode.

Maybe someone has tinkered on those courtesy cars.

That'd normal too, if you turn he fan speed to the speed Auto would use its switches back to Auto and the fan speed light goes out.

At least then this does not appear to be a fault
