Anyone care to claim an unofficial record for the longest distance driven in a citigo in a single day? How did you feel after any epic trips?

A colleague suggested I was a bit mad getting a city car as my 28 mile commute would be tiring in it....

Yes, I know 28 miles each way isn't exactly a long trip, but I'm sure we'll be taking a few hikes back down south once in a while from Scotland, maybe to a national meet too, so am interested in how people have found the car to be on long journeys.

As you might guess, I Ignored his advice and collect my Monte Carlo 3dr tomorrow. I think the seats are pretty cozy and I can get the nice laid back driving position that I like set up that's a good bit better than the citroen c3 picasso I've been using for 5 years.

For sure sound can play a part in causing fatigue on long trips too, so I will definitely do the rear wheel arches ASAP and probably do some boot space insulation too.

I regularly travel from Yorkshire to the South coast. The Citigo handles long journeys easily.

I've done a few 200+ mile days. No problems, good seat, good NVH for the class.

Longest trip in the citigo is about 250 miles, done no bother. I did drive from Lake Como to the Nurbergring (via Switzerland, Austria and Lichtenstein)  in one go once! 

290km easily, without coffee break. ;-)

Northumberland to London via a 10 minute pick-up on the Wirral. About 450 miles - no problem at all and done on one tank as I averaged 63.9mpg. 

I do Newcastle to Dundee weekly and it is a great long distance cruiser.

Longest I've done is 250 miles in one day (500 in 36 hours). No problems with fatigue, cruise control really helps. Did find the seat stated to get a bit uncomfortable for final 1.5h. Found myself constantly trying to find a comfortable position. However I had been sitting at a conference all day and car only a couple of weeks old. But happily did a 300 mile round trip to Auto Sport show on Sunday.

Plan on @140 miles tomorrow. Mixture of A, B roads and motorways. Will let you know how it goes, longest I done in one run since I got the car is 15 miles so looking forward to my road trip!

I collected mine today and I'm happy with my first 28 mile commute home in it. Wind assisted mind, so probably didn't get a good feel for wind noise in the cabin.

My first decent trip will be down to Cumbria from east of edinburgh in a few weeks time.

I've done 400 miles in a day with no issue it's surprisingly comfy and stable on motorway

Mines more comfortable than my Rapid is. The seats are much softer [emoji106]

No problems with long journeys in the Citigo. I find that at motorway speeds a lot of the noise is 'left behind', if that makes any sense

Having driven it a few times now, I'm completely comfortable with the seating and noise levels at motorway speed.

If i do take the citigo on long trips, I will miss the cruise control I've become accustomed to in my previous cars, so I might get a tired right ankle:-) That's the price I'll have to pay for being too impatient to wait for a fresh build car, rather than take the in-stock car I got.

ended up doing 265 miles total and using brim full calculations returned just over 53mpg. That was with 3 adults plus weekend luggage so pleased enough with that. Lot of changing down the box going over pennines so straight forward motorway trips I guess 55mpg plus. Comfortable enough drive for a small car, sat happy enough at 70mph only slight prob was small windscreen washer capacity in this dirty weather, needed refilling en route.

Not done any long journeys in mine but go to Portsmouth once a week, 85 miles each way. Munches up the A3 no problem, absolutely flies

I've done 300 miles one way, and again back ect ..... ours isn't so comfy though, its on eibachs

 

what I miss is a proper left foot rest, and more adjustment on the wheel. to be fair our citigo rarely does those big trips, only when we cant afford to take the vRS or its not sunny enough to take the eunos it normally has its 4 mile commute!

I've done 760 miles one way from Riga to Berlin, with one break for lunch in 15h. A bit extreme, but possible....

260 miles covered today, it did very well averaged 54mpg which was pretty good

Yes and it was one of the main reasons I bought the cute Car.

Yep it's fine been to Wales in it. Very good little car. Sure it's not the quickest but it's got enough to do the job.
