  • You'd have to be a bit daft to think there won't be. Ford has (unlike other car makers) realised that loads of people remap and found a way to influence what people do to their cars. At least by off

  • This is my one, love the little beast.

  • Makes you wonder why so few makers do have an approved remap available. You'd think it would be better for VAG to be involved in a safe remap for it's products that just leave the door open to a mult

It's horrible to look at, like a Transformer!

This is what you really want, a 500bhp Alfa! Oh yeeesssssaahh!

I like the look of the Honda.

Never said that before. :)

That Hondas mega

Looks like a touring car, but better

Crikey. Well each to their own! It will be like a starship inside no doubt, but I'll bet the gearchange will be fabulous.

Probably haha.

I bet itll handle well though.

I am a massive fun of the Honda, as previously said it looks like road going BTCC racer.

I am a little concerned they are going to price themselves out of their targeted market.

£30k for a hot hatch is fine if its German, got subtle styling and all important badge snobbery.

The Type R will be fantastic, no doubting that, but the styling will appeal to people (Like me) who are young..ish and can't afford a 30+k car yet.

Those who can will go for a Golf GTI, BMW 135i, Audi S3 or Merc AMG45.

Plus it's only got 300 bhp, so it's going to find itself in the Championship league almost straight away...

They are all getting a bit pointless really in the UK IMO,

the cloak of invisibility is becoming more important with NSL's of 60 mph (70 mph)

The country is full of Car cameras, on Bike cameras,

Fixed Speed Cameras, Mobile Speed Cameras, Average Speed Cameras & Variable Speed Cameras on Gantries.

It really is at a stage now that having a wee blast now and again can have your licence gone very easily,

& having a wee blast on the EVO Triangle, Top Gear Test Routes & all the other lovely routes that had no cameras can be

very dodgy where it is being filmed and put online, on forums and the likes.

...........................

Police Drones above some lovely empty routes where you can have a blast is going to be a real downer.

In case it seems far fetched,

i was driving a lovely empty route this morning, one of the best driving routes there is,

crisp bright dry cold road, and i spotted a Golden Eagle or a Buzzard, then i realised it was something man made.

I think they were doing Wild Life Policing or maybe they were being trained in their use, but there was a wee flock of Marked & Unmarked

AWDs sitting in the Forestry Parking place.

It's the age we live in now. If a road looks clear, is it really clear and mither free?

Buy a fast car,

drive it on the road sensibly (Like you should....) Nobody can argue about how quickly you get up to the speed limit on that road ;-)

Save brisk driving for the track/closed road events etc.

True, there is no limit to how fast, or what yaw angle you can take a corner, providing it's under the speed limit. You might attract attention if you do, but as far as I know it's not illegal.

Lets be honest, those fun corners are in the UK @ National Speed Limit 60 mph.

maybe fun in a Dacia on Eco Tyres, or some other sub £12,000 City Car,

but getting your thrills from the G-Force of a 250 BHP plus car on good tyres at the NSL requires hairpin corners over a tight road with a drop off to one side do they not?

I feel sure I can find some West Country roads (A,B,C) (unused MOD airfield) to enjoy the bulk of Power and Handling of this car, in safety with loads of fun, without bursting the NSL constantly .

Car with no add - on, lumpy stick-on rear lights or scaffolding supported aerodynamic down thruster blade.

Smooth understated Tuetonic look, with loads of grunt and top road holding characteristics,  will do me fine.

Guess what we might just have one in 2015/16 :https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GxmfrcRiLFQ

Very true,

So we need to either;

- Buy Dacia's

- Or design and manufacture tyres designed to be sketchy and not grip much.....

New Ford Focus ST hatch or Estate (Petrol /Diesel) form. From approx. £24k?

The Honda should be in that sort of price bracket IMO.

Leave the £30k + to the 'Premium' brands

It's acceleration we need, not top speed which is useless in the UK . That's the attraction of a super bike 3sec 0-60 times, having said that a lot of these bikes Busa,s and zzr 1400 et all are pushing 190mph now real licence shredders.

People can take out their Pensions in Cash in 2015, buy a Lambo or the likes.

Honda are pricing it just right for us Oldie Market,

surely no self respecting young person will be seen dead in a New 2015 Honda Type  R.

(I fancy in Hearing Aid Beige if they do a CVT option.)

Current Civic SR 1,8 i VTEC selling price OTR is approx. £24k so I would estimate at least a couple of k above that more Leon280 level pricing me thinks.

Gosh I didn't realise they were that much!!

Maybe we need to stop moaning that Skoda are getting more expensive, looks like they all are!!

The Honda is a halo car, it doesn't need to sell in large quantities.

It's getting younger people talking about the brand.

I'm expecting it to be around the 30-32k mark.

Which is affordable to a surprising number of 20 and 30 somethings with good jobs that want a quick car with history and kudos.

Bikes arent like cars though. Pretty much all bikes above 500cc will do 0-60 in 3 point something seconds.

You need to chose your cars wisely to get those figures.
