  • You'd have to be a bit daft to think there won't be. Ford has (unlike other car makers) realised that loads of people remap and found a way to influence what people do to their cars. At least by off

  • This is my one, love the little beast.

  • Makes you wonder why so few makers do have an approved remap available. You'd think it would be better for VAG to be involved in a safe remap for it's products that just leave the door open to a mult

Keith, any info on the new focus ST? The fact that it has >2000cc displacement puts it into viable economic territory for me!

I'm researching tuning potential too, as in how reliable etc etc.

Thanks, I've seen those reviews and a few more on the new ST. At the moment, my shopping list includes

Pug 308GTi if only it had 400+Nm then it becomes seriously interesting

Focus ST - if it goes like the fiesta then top of the list BUT it's new and could have issues plus little discount maybe.

Used Cupra - instant remap so missile like behaviour but soulless ownership experience and driving pleasure.

Octy vrs 245 same as cupra, remap it and it would be OK.

Info needed to help decision making:

Can Pug tolerate a remap?

Can the 2.3 eco boost tolerate a remap (to Focus RS power levels?)?

We know the EA888 is relatively bullet proof so 450Nm for an octy or 500+Nm for a cupra is achievable and use able.

I suspect the Ford and the pug are in a different league of fun factor driving, but given my mileage and occupation I just want to get from A to B quickly and safely, so overtaking ability is in truth more important than on the limit handling; which is very infrequent on public roads given how high the grip levels are on all these cars. Maybe I should add a Fiesta ST to the list and pay a visit to mountune.....

2020 Volkswagen Golf R Plus renderGolf R mk8 400 Plus is on its way 2020. Long overdue imo.

technically, hybrid power is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. It does nothing to really help the environment, just shifts the problem elsewhere, although that does have benefits of course; and there is massive weight and performance disadvantage. Batteries are not currently the answer.
