Did you get them at Horton's? I'm planning the same change when I get back to the UK so I may as well use my local dealer if their prices are good.

No mate Horton's said they couldn't supply the part for some reason. This was a while ago tho

Well ! I've taken the plunge. Car book in at lightcliffe Warrington Tuesday for its 1st service £105, lowering springs £221 and a few warranty issues.

Warranty issues? What's up?

Water in the doors, door handle sticks open so have give it a clout to close it, knocking noise from the front left when I move off, think its the brake pads gripping. The disks and pads have already been changed from new due to warped discs, I have a knocking noise when I go over speed bumps, headlights dimming badly when turning the wheel at idle and speed.

It's 12mths old and falling apart already.

Think I got that Friday car Billy.......

Sorry to hear you have problems. I must say I get a knocking over speed bumps but I fixed it by turning the stereo up.

On a niggly point my wheel centres have corroded badly in a matter of months. I wonder if I could get them replaced on warranty?

If I do I'm onto a winner as its almost a certainty that the dealer will prise them out and damage the wheels..... New rays!

Is £105 standard price or discounted? Mines due very soon .

Just had an online quote for mine, 1st service £179......think I'll be looking elsewhere, it's only an oil change, is it?

I just shopped around and yes got prices ranging from £229 to £105. Mine isn't on variable for some reason and the guy at skoda said it should of been from new. He went on to say that it only needed servicing every 20k or 2 years with the oil that skoda use. Same with the lowering springs and fitting. Got quoted £425 down to £221.

RRG in Bolton are around the cheapest in the NW, as soon as I rang to cancel everything at Lightcliffe Skoda in Warrington they asked why, I told them that RRG was doing the work for X pounds and they instantly matched it. I would of gone to RRG Bolton 20min drive but Lightcliffe is 5mins from my house so quids in all round.

MickA and Billy, yes discounted to £105

MickA;  £179 sounds like the average variable service cost. A minor service is on average is around the £139 mark. My advice is shop around and play them off against each other. Business is tight these days and they all want your business.

I also asked them to code my Columbus in, which was hilarious as I copied what needs to be coded in from here and they hadn't got a clue. When I came back they said they couldn't do it, the system wasn't allowing them to continue so they reverted all changes. When I got in my car I immediately noticed it knew what direction it was point in, as it was showing up on the maxidot. I turned nav on and behold it gave directions on the maxidot. Freebie Hahaha.

That looks so much better [emoji106]

Well done on the Columbus [emoji4]

Miles better. Getting mine done 2moro.

Once again Skoda dealer trying to take your cash.

Even Skoda's official website states £139 mate. See here....

Sorry should have said, it's a quote from my local SEAT dealer, as it's a Toledo. Should be about the same as the Rapid surely.  I didn't specify what I wanted just a 1st service and gave them my reg number online. I want a fixed 10k/12 month service, it's due March.

Looks awesome and very clean! Is that a big brother Octy I see hiding in the background....?

Yeah I try to keep it spotless, difficult being white, it went for a valet yesterday and Skoda cleaned it again today Haha. Wish I'd have known!

Well spotted, yes when I bought my Rapid few people complimented me on my car and then not long after the Octy appeared. :) we also have a Roomster. Mother in law has a Leon Cupra, I tried to convince her to get a VRs but she said it was too big!!

Saw the new Fabia today as well, looks really nice! But after driving a 14 plate Fabia courtesy car, I cannot believe how high the seating position is compared to the Rapid I felt like I was in a truck!! Wonder if the new one is the same.

I looked at the new Fabia today too at my dealer. Lasted a second then I walked off [emoji57]

Just another Spaceback look.

that looks well like it should have done from the factory

Eibachs fitted today.

Springs from MW Motorsport in Germany £139.84 delivered, fitted by ex-Skoda mechanic (who'd defected from the stealer where I bought the car) for £165.00 - so £305 all in, which is half the stealers originally quoted £600 price!

Totally different car now… massively improved feel on the road with no discernible difference to the ride comfort (except over those annoying little short speed bumps).

Cornering greatly improved and much more precise with far less roll (also aided by overall 34.7mm track increase from Fox FX004 lightweight alloys)… and best of all, it just looks soooo much better!

Just a bit concerned now as to whether the Maxton Design spoiler I'm waiting to fit on the front is gonna be too low and a bit of a kerb magnet… trial fit as soon as the weather permits I think - still got to fit the Heko's and mud flaps as well so lots to do.

There's no doubt that it looks so much better.

There's also no doubt that this has be one of the best cars to have in white - the lines of the bodywork seem to be highlighted more than any other colour (IMO), and the 17" Ray's just finish it off.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Black Magic Spaceback… but white would have been my first choice if they'd had one in stock!

And nice to see another member of the black grille club...
