Turboman, was that a skoda dealer ? I got quoted £272 from lightcliffe skoda warrington.

When I got mine they cost 180 just for parts so 211 fitted seems very good. Perhaps the springs have gotten cheaper to buy...?

The springs were discounted for me to £167 and charged an hrs labour only. But then my dealer is very very good.

This is the dealer that cant fix the fuel guage.  Would you trust them to take all four corners off, change the springs, and reassemble it correctly.  Buggered if I would.

I would use them of course as I have done for the past 8 years. The reason for the fuel gauge is because the service manager has got involved and I'm challenging his skill and experience which he knows he can't win against me [emoji4]

The mechanics are 100% if he doesn't get involved. This is the first troublesome Skoda I've had (sadly the last).

I spoke with dealer about the eibach springs they said they could supply and fit for £200 but they said they only lower the car 25mm which doesn't sound like much when you think how high the rapid sits. I was thinking you'd need to lose near 60mm?

Could you get springs that lower the car by 60mm?

Too low?! I know the Rapid sits high, but from what I've seen the Eibach springs massively improve the look of the car, I wouldn't want one of those cars that make you sweat approaching speed bumps.

The Eibachs lower between 25 and 30mm. Now that the car has a good few miles on it since and the springs have fully settled, all I can say is that it looks frankly awesome!

Alike most springs they'll 'settle' once you've done a few thousand miles and gain a little 'bounce'.

The H&R's I put on my Octy III vRS are now 'settled' and the ride is firm but not bone jarring as it was when they were first fitted which considering the drop (stated as 40mm front and rear but actually measures in at 46mm front and 43mm rear over original) is pleasing.

There are H&R's available for the Rapid with a stated 35mm F & R drop, which in reality will probably give 38-40mm once run-in, but I'm sticking with Eibach's on my Spaceback (which I've ordered from Germany for £130 delivered and which I'm getting a local independent to fit for about £120 as I refuse to pay the £600 supply and fit price my local stealer wants) which with the new alloys I've also got on order (which are wider and have a lesser offset) will fill the arches much better in terms of the gap above the tyre and the track width (the Rapid being the same as the Octy III - the standard wheels sit way too far inboard).

Thanks... proof that it pays to shop around, but unfortunately also that just because someone happens to be a main/franchised dealer, they're not always going to be best people to deal with.

As we all now Skoda themselves will do this for half that. Needless to say I didn't get the work done at these establishments.

Mine has had eibachs (25-30 mm drop) for about 9 months and 9000 miles so nice and settled now. Here is a photo of the unladen wheel to arch gap....

I think a 60mm drop may be a little much unless you are going for that modified 'slammed' look...

That looks sweet, mines booked in Monday for fitting. Can't come soon enough getting a nose bleed up here.

I'm all for the sporty/modified look but slammed cars look ridiculous.

Yeah annoying. Must be a Skoda thing. I remember when I collected my mk2 octy vrs I had to ask if they had left in the suspension blocks or something. Come on skoda you obviously know its a problem or you wouldn't Photoshop ur brochure pics and lower your promo cars
