Recommend a cloth for cleaning window interiors

Featured Replies

Now it may be that some of my MF towels have seen better days, but I'm finding that they can leave tiny fibres on the inside of my glass which are a pain to keep working on to remove.

What cloths do you guys use on window interiors to leave a streak free finish that doesn't leave anything else behind? Any magical recommendations?!

You can get MF specifically designed for glass

Personally, a new clean MF cloth doesnt shed anything and is good for glass

Glass cloths or Waffle Weave are better than MF ones, the Minky glass cloths from ASDA are very good.

Cheers guys. Might use one of my waffle weave drying towels and it may be time to move some of my older towels down the pecking order for some new ones!

They are good for glass cleaning, if you shop at ASDA sneak one of the Minky cloths in your basket, from memory they are only a couple of quid.

I tried the above with Autobrite crystal glass cleaner last weekend and the combination worked very well. Sray on, spread and wipe off, then polish with a clean dry part of the towel using the fluffy side. Was very easy and quick to do too- much better than my previous method of using kitchen roll.

Too much advice?

Never mind

At the end of the day..Its what works for you ..... those that have experience will post their preferences

Good luck

Are they like the Vileda ones that are good on glass too?

I find them better after a good wash through and slightly damp

A spritz with Glass cleaner works well

Sparkly provided some great cloths in his last GB.

I'm finding them very useful and great quality.

Recommended them to plenty of guys on the other forums.

Not sure if he has any left - but worth asking....

I didnt get any in his last GB

What were they like?

EDIT:

The Yellow one?

Never tried Vileda cloths, so I've no idea if they are better.

These are the ones I have, they are cheaper in store. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINKY-MICROFIBRE-GLASS-WINDOW-CLOTH-/221641337832

Also looking on the Minky website it appears a new design is on the market, not sure about the new ones, or whether it's simply a packaging change.

Thanks

Pretty similar

Have you tried suede mf?...Its very very good

Ive used it a lot ....

but didnt want to recommend as I cant find a stand alone link..Just the Carpro ones

These Vileda cloths I describe are very similar

Paragon Microfiber - theyre the ones from the GB

Many thanks

So..after while:

Here you go

CLICKY

I've had one of these about 5 years & still great, not cheap, but quality never is. It's very big also meaning you can fold & turn & use a clean part of the cloth more often than smaller cloths http://www.flexipadshop.com/category2160824.html

The Minky cloths from ASDA are much smaller, but still ok as a back up to the above

I can't comment on the Paragon ones as I've never used them. How do you find them Chris?

I havent used the Paragon ones either...if you read back you will see why I posted that

Trying to help the OP

Thanks again chaps, will look into some of the above options!

I've also had a bit of a brainwave, in that I have a couple of "e-cloth" glass & polishing cloths that a friend recommended for cleaning spectacles and ipad screens and they work a treat. Didn't think to actually use one on a windscreen...  :peek:  :notme:

Worth a go, nothing to lose I suppose.

I agree that these are excellent on glass (and lots of other surfaces too). They improve the more you use them. I bought a box (of 100) for £20 on eBay - absolute bargain!
