Discs wear

Featured Replies

I am a very light braker with pads lasting around 30k and discs lasting a long time on previous cars. I have noticed that from new the discs are starting to show a ridge after only 6000 miles. Are the brake pads made of iron filings and the discs Bacofoil?

edbostan, just coming up to 68,000 on the first set of brakes and discs. My local independent garage suggests that they are changed this time round. Otherwise his comment of "I'm impressed" echoes my general feeling about the Roomster.

1.4 Tdi 87,000 miles and still on original pads and discs. They seem OK to me..

1'4 Tdi with 107k, new front pads at 94k, all other bits from new.  May be looking at a set of rear pads at about 124k but the discs are fine.
