Neck pillows

Featured Replies

Look ok to me. Wouldn't fit a Sport seat as its a one piece moulded cushion with no separate head rest.

they fit nicely! However, maybe they would be perfect if there was no green colour! But they are very very nice!

Haven't seen any with the new badge yet, but I quite like the green badge.

I a;ready have 1 from my older car and lov it.  However a;though it exact same shape it is a tesco one and not have any make badge on it.  I must admit I prefer the newer Skoda badge silver and black never was keen on the green one

Also have to say when I forst got the car the angle of the head rest took some getting used to, it seemed to push my neck forwards

yukky!  are you putting green neons under the sills as well chris? :D

What is the point of those? Don't they force your head forward? Wouldn't they stop the head resistant (NOT headrest) doing their job in a rear shunt?

I find that the head rests in the Rapid are in the wrong place for me, and I have to push myself back into the seat in a very unnatural way to make contact with them (and unlike my previous cars, the head rests in the Rapid are not hinged, so you can't bend them forward). The neck pillow is at a better height for me, and provides the missing support for my massive brain, lower head and neck while sat in my natural driving position.

Modern cars do not have head RESTS, they have head RESTRAINTS. The design is not intended for the driver to be able to rest the back of his head when driving, but to prevent excessive backward movement of the head in an accident to reduce the likelihood of neck injuries. I vaguely remember research (from the 1980s or 90s, I think) that showed that drivers with their head supported when driving turned their head less and were therefore less aware of their surroundings. I will try to find the source of the research.

Please, don't bother looking for any more info on my account, I really don't care.

As suggested, I'm not bothering to look for the source of the research. I do hope you don't suffer a rear shunt and test whether the neck pillows do, or do not, inhibit the benefit of the head restraints.

Still no sign of anyone doing the neck pillows with the newer Skoda badge on, but did spot an alternative design of pillow earlier that caught my interest, as it's not as noticeable and possibly fits better to the head rest. Rather than using an elastic strap, these have passthrough holes for the head rest poles to go through and anchor it in place, and provides a couple of extra storage pockets on the back of the seat - the extra storage is possibly useful for those crazy enough to allow children in their car.

They look better tbh. Not so baulky as the others.
