My fabia is going in for some warranty work on Monday, whilst it's in I was going to ask them to enable the Columbus to show in the Maxidot.

Anyone got a guide for how to do this so I can print it out for them?

Areas to lookin and what to enable, I asked dealer I bought it off but they were unable to find it apparently.

In VCDS it should show in maxidot if 56 is ticked in the gateway (module 19) installation list. Dealers have different software though so it may not be the same.

It may be as simple as resetting the unit (press and hold for the three secs the two buttons on the top left and eject).

If you have no luck and are passing Newport way in the near future I can stick VCDS on it for you.

I shall bear that in mind! I've seen cheap VCDS on eBay etc are these okay to use or does it need the proper stuff?

They are fake copies and are not supported here. The genuine full VCDS is always £200-£300 with lifetime support (and dependent on the exact kit) which is actually reasonable for what it does.

You could also end up ruining your car with the dodgy gear so I would say steer clear.
