HIDS canbus

Featured Replies

just wondering if anyone with HIDS on there car can tell me wether you need a canbus? just wondering if it shows errors on the dash if you dont have them on, and if anyone is running the 55W ones if they noticed it melting the inside of the projector due to heat ?

Not another hid thread. There's more of these than oil threads I'm sure! Sorry op

When i spoke to hids direct over the phone they said it would show an error so i thought i might as well just get the canbus ones, price was the same anyway

All the possible questions have been answered many times over havent they hsha.

I might just copy the link to that massive hids thread and simply paste it in every related new thread haha

Time for a hid sticky thread me thinks...

I thought it was recommended that you buy non-canbus ones, as the canbus ones can potentially cause damage to the controller?

Fabia needs canbus or itll flag an error.

Octy doesnt i dont think. They can be programmed in on vcds on them, i think.

I thought the same but I just looked at another thread relating to the Fabia and it seems the Fabia require a canbus kit as it can't be programmed to "xenons" as it's not an option on them.

It seems the Fabia is not at risk of damage like the Octavia for some reason!

So canbus kit for Fabia (no coding required) non-canbus kit for Octavia (coding required).
