sdhc card

Featured Replies

I am trying to put some music on an SD card to play through my Bolero stereo. I purchased a 16gb class 10 card but when I put it in the stereo it says 'Processing please wait'. I waited for a few minutes but nothing happened. I then tried an 8gb class 4 card and copied a few songs onto it which it read within a few seconds. I continued to copy music to it but when I put it back in it again said 'Processing please wait'. I waited for at least 5 minutes but still nothing. Am I doing something wrong i.e the folder structure or Is there a size limit?

Thanks

Might be a song or folder issue. Add a few folders then try deleting 1 at a time till it works

Sent from my Galaxy S5

Early Bolero systems (fw53) had this problem but you also may have gone over the (iirc) 256 files per folder limit?

there is a special formatting software to create a folder structure to fit a Bolero and other non compatible systems.

Try aswell exchanging the card itself as it proved with me later that I had a defective one....

good luck

I think you have to make sure that the card is formatted as FAT32 as the Bolero doesn't understand NTFS

Thanks for the replies. My music is filed in artist folders so am not exceeding 256 files per folder. The card is also formatted as FAT32. I assume 16gb card should work, how long should I expect to wait? Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot

I'm using a 32GB sdhc card class 6 with no issues. I get the same message as you when it's reading but only for a second. I have Bolero from 09 plate but don't know if this is early version?

I think the issue is more to do with the head unit, I read somewhere there was a software update for early Bolero units which have reading issues. Maybe worth a call to your main dealers?

Thanks for your help, did you get your unit upgraded?

I have also just read about the Skoda Portal and how you can upgrade by downloading the latest firmware on an SD card. Does this only apply to newer cars as mine is 2010?

Thanks

...loaded up a 16gb sd card to try in mine..probably 50 odd albums worth.....and it does take a minute or 3 to load up. I have tried putting all the albums on the root directory, andalso splitting them into 3 main folders, (classic / pop / misc), but it did not seem to make any difference...

I'm afraid your car is a dealer hookup upgrade only.

Even then they may tell you that an update isn't available as the one that fixes your problem (53>54) is designated as updating something else.

I tried holding in the setup button to find out what version I have but the 'Version Info' doesn't show up just have fm and am

I use 16gb cards full to capacity. They used to take 3 or 4 minutes to find the first track. I had the firmware on the Bolero updated a couple of years ago and they play the required track within  seconds.. A search of the forum will provide more details. ie".the firware update  to the stereo is listed for a bolero curve fault with this update it changes a few things and in turn speeds the sd card up"

Mine is in a 2010 Elegance.

Thanks for the update, does the firmware update incur a cost or is it done at the dealers free of charge?

Thanks

Firmware on my bolero unit was done during its last service and wasn't charged any extra. The loading time went from 40s to almost instant. I do have another issue though that sometimes after listening to sd card music no problem when I come back to car and start her up I get an error message so have to remove and reinsert card

did you download the songs from iTunes? If so, maybe you have the same issue I had and didn't realise.

The songs were in .m3u format not .mp3. Put in in the computer and have a look, that's all the issue was with mine.

M3U is a playlist and not a file format.
