Hi,

got a question about footwell lights. If all the interior bulbs are 501s, can someone please tell me how to change footwell bulbs. Footwells have a metal housing with plastic cover that doesnt look easy to open to. Actually it looks like I'll brake them if I try something.

One more question for ledperf owners. Are the footwells in the ledperf pack just bulbs or the whole light housing with bulbs?

Thanks everyone!!

Disconnect the unit from the loom. Place the plastic lens down on a flat surface so that the metal casing is facing upwards. Use a small flat bladed screw driver or trim removal tool to prise metal away from the plastic lens attacking it from the connection end first. Once you have one side proud of the lugs use the screw driver on the other side - you can bend the casing a little without distorting permanently.

It took me 45 mins to figure this out first time as like you I did not want to break anything. Only took 30 mins to do all of the other bulbs combined!

Top tip is to check LED bulb works before placing case back on as some LEDs are single polarity and work only one way round.

I thought the same when I did mine, but attacked it with a screwdriver within seconds. Luckily the LEDs I have are not fussy on polarity

Thanks! I'll try that!

As an option for any of the 501 interior bulbs - I've used these these Osram ones and they are far better quality than many ebay LEDs. They are warm white, and bright with a diffuser and work really well in the VRS front reading lights and glove box.

Looking to buy some of these to change all the internal lights, just a few questions.

Did you use these in the boot?

Do they need to be connected with the right polarity?

Are any resistors required?
