Tailgate switch removal

Featured Replies

Hi guys, a couple of days after delivery, the tailgate switch on my Mk3 Combi stopped working.  I can open the tailgate with the key fob, but not with the switch on the tailgate itself.  I suspect it's to do with the fitment of the camera, and possibly the cable not being seated properly or similar.

The dealer is about 25km's away and they need the car for the day, and no loan, so I was going to give it a go myself first.

Does anyone know if you need to take the interior trim off the tailgate to access the switch, or does it pop out, like the number plate lights?
