another week another problem with fab

Featured Replies

first things first......me and ma bro both have fabia vrs....both with about 8500 miles on.... ive had ma fair share of problems and recently developed a new one..ive got a sqeaking from the rear when i turn left at 15 mph and if 15mph is carried on then it still squeeks if im travelling straight.... both cars have done this and we cannot figure out why??

but arguably the worst of ma problems happend this saturday?? driving to work with ac turned on to de mist the windows.. turn it off then..... SHHNAP... then i smell burning........turns out ma AC machine ceased up and snapped ma fan belt... :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn: was menna get the car bak today and obvs not happend... but still just very sick of the problems atm.. but im looking on the bright side.. ma car gets hoovered and cleaned again for free

Not heard of an AC compressor seizing up on a Fabia as yet...odd.

The squeak from the rear, does it happen if the seats are folded down?

but im looking on the bright side.. ma car gets hoovered and cleaned again for free

not sure. ill try it again later on as it is 1 am in the morning..... but the noise can be heard from outside........the guys down at silbury said it was the rear headlights chafing and they tried lubing everything on ma bro's and it didnt help..... well.. the car is booked in on monday hopefully get it all sorted... but on a another bright night......... ma konig e-racers in black are menna arrive later on today :thumbup: was menna come tuesday but they ordered them in the wrong colour.. boooohooo... any other ideas as to why the car is sqeakin?? any help much appreciated as i can pass it on to the dealer

Another unfortunate owner, they crop up from time to time, luckily I've had nowt go wrong with mine after a full year of ownership (now somethings bound to happen. Hope you get it sorted.

BTW, interesting language, which country are you from???

Ahh it could well be the rear lights. I've done a few of these. What I have found works is if you remove the light and place a strip of foam underneath (the strips of foam provided with a new Skoda to go under the rear number plate are ideal for this) bolt it all up again and the noise goes.

I think with every car there's a few "friday afternoon" ones floating around, it's a shame.

Ive had some issues, but non that werent caused by me :o

its just strange how both me and ma bro's car have both bin in the garage so many times...i dont dis-like the car infact i love it... just i wanted to mod me rs and now im worried it will fall to pieces and tbh the service at silbury skoda is excellent :thumbup: cheers lummox ill pass the msg on to silbury see if that'll fix it.....

speaking of silbury.... i had a chat with the service manager on the whole waaranty issue and modifiying the car..........he said summink along the lines of.. skoda uk/czeck reserve the right to void your warranty if summink goes wrong and the car is modified..........i gave him an example of a C.A.I. he said if ma pistons goes tits up then he would have to send the part off back to skoda czeck to have it seen to if it was related or not.... does that mean for eg ma current problems would still be covered if i had a C.A.I in?????

The letter of the warranty states that any non-Skoda parts will void the warranty. However, it's down to the dealer's interpretation of this as to whether they bother submitting a warranty claim. For example, if you'd replaced your alloys and your air con packed up, they could refuse to fix it as the car is modified, but in reality, they would probably only void the warranty surrounding the part that is modified.... :D

Also be aware that different service manager's have different interpretations of the warranty!!!
