Glad you found it. I said I would look out for it but I never expected it to be found in Bedford which is where I live.! I will have to beef up the security on my mk1 now.

Well you could always de-lock the car, carries it's own issues but they can't get through via the locks anymore. Also decent steering wheel lock is a worthy extra IMO.

 

Other than that glad you got her back! And yes I'd also get it thoroughly cleaned afterwards.

I was looking at steering locks last night but the reviews arent great on some of them. Some of the big names got removed in seconds without needing tools

A good fitted disklok is a good deterrent

After the police have finished with the aluminium oxide powder, I'd be asking the insurance co if they also pay to have it valeted.

That stuff is a PITA to get off, specially from rough surfaces!
