SUPER Excited! Raspberry Pi 2!

Featured Replies

Just purchased my Raspberry Pi 2 which I am very excited about receiving! I use the old Pi for XBMC and it is a brilliant bit of kit for the price so I am mega excited to get my hands on this.

Whats more... Anyone want a PC for less than £40??? Read below ;)

I've got an original pi. Ive never really got the hang of it but the new version seems cool, plus it will run some kind of windows. Hopefully a stable version of android too.

Thought one of the attractions was not having to run Windows on it?

Might be tempted by it even just as a fun toy or to allow connection and proper browsing on the main TV (smart TV browsing is ok but PC is better)

Oooh. Cool!

Currently use my Pi with XBMC. Might put this one on the TV in the bedroom then and get a new one!

Maybe run XBMC on Windows with your new Pi? :D

Was there an XBMC app for Windows 8 RT as I bet the Pi version of Windows 10 is going to be in a similar vain. Don't hope you can run all your favorite x86 windows apps on the Pi :P

I received my first Pi2 today, this one will be thrown in to desktop duties for my garage PC as well as powering a camera so I can see how far I can get with my home brew Python/OpenCV motion detection stuff, the original Pi didn't have the power required (out sourced it to an Atom powered 'back end')... will be interesting to see how this one copes.

Got mine:)....big step up from the Mk1.

If you're ordering one note they need a MicroSD card. Frustrating night as the only MicroSD I could find appears to be broken :(

i'm a bit annoyed as I only just bought a b+ in December.  Nevermind you can't have too much pi.

ooh well out of stock now on places like RS...

1 gig ram, quad core, super! Looks over at dormant pi, what to do with 2 that I never did with 1.

Brag that you have the new Raspberry Pi 2?!

I think I know what I'm going to do with my old Pi once I get a new one. It's going in the motorhome hooked up to the TV for watching movies!

CPC still have them - well they did a couple of hours go.

Get a cluster of them setup and run Briskoda on a separate dev network to which you can add / edit / remove config at will without the fear of breaking something :)

Will be interested to hear how you get on with that. Dabbled with a CCTV setup on my original Pi, but never got very far.

RS should have had another order of 2s today.

Never picked this up when it was posted.

Glad you quoted Dan's post - given me an idea for a media streamer for the man cave (garage)

If I went totally mad and swapped it all to the tech I'm in love with/using I could! The only real blocker is the lack of a gig ether, surprised they didn't bump that up...

But I'd have to put 6 months aside to build it, and have some serious guts as it would be a one way street :)

I wonder actually if one of these will run docker :) Happy days then :) If not node would suffice as that will carry what I need, right back to work or I'll have a suite of these...

When the mk1 was released I half joked about filling a 2/4u rack box with pi's. Then good old HP did it, but with similar products, crazy core density.

I do have a 1u chassis with an old amd mobo... umm a mk1 pi isn't far of a micro instance amazon node, mk2 is a bit more sans fast network... dam it :D
