Part number for a rear parking sensor

Featured Replies

I have to replace a rear parking sensor on my 57 plate 2.5 Tdi v6. The garage can fit a vw part which is £69 pound but will also happily fit an after market product. How do I know the part number in order to ensure compatability

Thanks

The part number is 3U0 919 275 B. You can find it though cheaper on EBay, original, new. Last time I bought it for ~ 30 Euro + shipping cost. You can search for this code on ebay.de, they have plenty of VAG original parts. Nevermind the language, just search for the part number.

Caution with ebay; many of them are actually clones from the Chinese market. The plastic casings look good but the actual sensor head is a joke and even worse quality than the originals.

You only really want to bother with a part coming in a VW box. If it is loose it is probably a knockoff.

In general you are right.

In particular, there are fewer fakes on German Ebay, compared to .com one. I installed mine few months ago and still works like a charm. Came with the part number stamped on it's body and compared side by side with the original from the car, identical. This was the link:

If you don't mind paying ~100 Euro for it, go for the original from the stealer...

That's the one I got, from the same seller. It was fake (well, it isn't the original by VW, that is sure). I confronted them about it and they refunded straight away.

Maybe they're selling original ones now, but when I bought it it wasn't.

The stampings on the side are not the part numbers... they are the specifications for the plastic! :)

Sorry, that was the wrong link (saved in my watch list since I was looking for sensors few months ago, but I didn't purchase from him - something must have turned me off, maybe reviews, don't remember), as from my mobile phone I didn't have access to my full ebay purchase history (only the last 60 days and this one I bought in September 2014).

The one I bought (I can see now from my laptop the full purchase history) is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SKODA-SUPERB-3U4-PDC-PARKSENSOR-EINPARKHILFE-hinten-vorne-aussen-3U0919275B-NEU-/360978975155?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item540c0609b3 and you can see on the last photo of the item the part no written with white (actually you can see 3U0...) but this is what I got and it's still working.

This doesn't change the fact that you can get all kind of fakes on Ebay, but for 30 Euro I took the chance, since the rest of the sensors were working (checked via VCDS), so I didn't plan to change the whole system. If I would have had 2 flawed ones, I would have gone for a system retrofit...

Nice one. The one I got definitely doesn't have the 3U... the sensor head actually fell out of it!

I think it is probably still not original, but perhap a better version. :)

I know it's already been answered, but in for a penny...

Could be so, but as long as it works is fine with me... Anyway, a bargain compared to the stealer's price...

Definitely! :)
