VCDS mong - how and what to do?

So I'm borrowing my mates laptop and cable tomorrow to do a few bits on my car. I've never used VCDS before and never watched anyone use it.

So to that end, there's a few bits I'd like to do to mine and the wife's car. Namely:

Large MPH display

Needle sweep

Change power steering weight

Anti hijack

Change indication to 5 flashes from 3

Teardrop wipers.

I don't really know how to do it, so can someone give me a quick guide as to how to change the settings in VCDS.

Many thanks, oh and are there any other good things you can do?

For the large MPH once you've changed it to AUS on VCDS you'll need to go into the MFD and select the box for it to show on maxi and also change the units back to GB on the maxi.

Alarm beep for lock/unlock and all door unlock are good ones too

So I've tried changing a few things and I get various error messages or bytes not appearing which should.

Module 44

Adaptations

for the power steering change says choose Channel 1 and then choose between 1-6 for increased weight.

It says channel 1 does not exist. Only channel 0 which cannot be updated? I'm not too sure if there's another way round this?

Did manage to put teardrop on though.

Did you have a look here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/236545-power-steering-adjustment/?hl=%20steering%20%20assist  ?

44 - Steering Assist
Recode - 07

Soft coding

112 X 1

Then you choose the 4th digit based on the description in the other thread. I have mine on 2 (that is: 11221) and it feels much better than stock.

Few points of reference:

5 instead of 3 indicator flashes is:

Module 9 centr/conv.

Adaptation 10

Channel 43

Change from 3-5 cycles.

Press save.

Audible beep on unlock/lock

Centr/conv. Module 9

Adaptations 10

There's a drop down menu, choose unlock

Change 0 to a 1

Click save

Use menu again, choose lock

Change 0 to a 1 again

Press save.
