  • Tbh I think some people are a bit too picky, if you can feel the difference from a steel to a glass roof on a car that weighs 1.3tonnes anyway you must be bricking it when its full of fuel, passengers

Borderline pet cruelty in my opinion, but I'm sure it gets its own revenge from time to time.

It will love the better ventilation from the open pano-roof though :)

Cruelty? *******s!

My dog is made for Arctic climates, so all ventilation is good ventilation in his mind.

^^^ chaps.. Its a joke by gerrycan.. Its a play on words.... Bit of "wind" in the back .........

Be interesting to hear your opinion of the pano roof after the 41 degree C forecast for this coming Saturday?

I'll let you know if I can pry it from the wife for a few mins. We're getting the windows tinted on Thurs--the spendy Cancer Council stuff--so that should help.

Sorry, probably a bit too subtle.

My dog moves away and gives me a disapproving stare.

Request - Estate Panno Roof Photos ? (and Feedback)

Hello,

Any owners with the panno roof on their combo able to share some photos, (internal and external) if possible ?

I have tried to find a dealer with one in stock so I can take a look but no where seems to have one.

Also, am i correct in thinking theres no slide cover ?

Much appreciated

Thank you/

Whereabouts are you?

You're welcome to come for a nose at mine if you are in the west mids.

I can do some photos later if you need more, but suffice it to say that it's awesome.

West Yorkshire so a bit far, but thank you for the offer - Seeing all these photos has really helped.  (just updated my profile :)

Thank you

That seems like a lot. It could be possible though, it's rather thick glass, plus the closing mechanism etc. I don't think (hope) it makes much difference on a VRS with the firmer suspension.

On this question of weight - I can't find any details for the Octavia sunroof, although there are some for sale as parts on the net.

I believe Webasto makes the Octavia one, again I can't find specific details, but this aftermarket one is big and only 48lbs - not including removal of the steel it replaces. Not too bad as a penalty.

48kgs!! Thats 7 and a half stone!!! I`ll be very surprised if its that more than steel roof!

21.8 kg

It looks great, brightens up the interior, and gives the children something to look at on long drives. Downside is it only worked 4 times before failing and there is an estimated 2 month wait for a new motor assy...

Must have got my kg and lbs mixed.

Went well over my head too - sorry. Blame some of the PETA posts I read online which make me think people really do take things so seriously! Sorry about that old bean.

Meh, its 45kg of pure win!

It's not 45kgs - at least I've not found a source. The best I can find is the Webasto website which says 48 pounds got a similar unit and then deduct the weight of the removed steel roof.

I've got a 2 year old and a 4 year old, and they (along with myself and the wife) LOVE the sunroof. The car feels so open and airy - certainly worth the price of the option.

Even in the blazing heat of our summer, the roof is hardly any different to a normal metal roof. It does heat up quicker, but the aircon can easily handle the small amount of extra heat (special glass used) it generates.

Sorry to requote the picture again - but that does look awesome and if the Superb is the same, I'm ticking the box when I replace later this year!

Cheers for sharing.

The picture is taken (from me in the boot) with the camera about where your head would be in the middle rear seat. The roof is tilted in that pic also

Back seat gets an awesome view! As others have said, front seat its above your head (but the roof extends to in front of your head, just). Its around a $1700 option in australia, but damn, its such a great option. Makes the car feel so....."airy".My wife was against sunroofs...it took me two months after we ordered, to get it added to the order. A few guys on briskoda posted photos, that and the VW sunroof video above helped me convince her. Now she is like "Damn that roof is totally worth it. It's awesome!"

Let me say. If you have kids (under 12, who are still easily impressed lol) this is almost a must have option. Makes road trips more entertaining.

Loved having the roof open today driving up the M1 - if you open a back window a smidge it really draws fresh air around the interior.

I opened mine today - I love the engineering that has gone into the mechanism.
