Windscreen Wash Pump

Featured Replies

Do I need to remove the front bumper to get at the pump on my 2004 1.2 12V Fab please?

There is wash liquid gushing out on the floor below where the pump is located when I try to spray my rear window. I suspect a hose has come adrift. Thanks.

Remove the wheel arch liner, not the bumper.

No need to remove bumper

Infact no need to remove the whole liner

Just the part closest to bumper maybe only 3 or4 torx screws. The liner has plenty of give in it. Simply pull forward and washer is there.wedge some wood in if needs be.

20 min job

Had you checked the pipe coming out of the bulkhead before you get you hands dirty

I got 1 if needed complete with bottle

Thanks for your replies.

Sorry Thisguy, but I don't fully undertand which pipe you mean about the "pipe from the bulkhead" and where it is located.

They pop apart going through into the cabin (i.e. the back of the engine bay) or down at the N/S front wheel.

Spray the washer, have someone look in the engine bay.  If its leaking at the N/S wheel, simply remove a few torx screws and remove a bit of the wheel liner.  Clip the pipe back together (nothing needed to do this).  If it's leaking at the back of the engine bay, just clip it back in there!

a washer pipe comes out of the bulkhead head about halfway down on the right hand side of the engine, common one to pop off.

As above get someone to run Tue washer while you have the bonnet open to confirm where it's coming from.
