From Elegance to L&K

Featured Replies

Decided to change from a 2014 Elegance DSG to a 2015 L&K DSG, due beginning of March.

The excitement is building and I'm spending too much time on the Skoda site looking at specs.

What did others who have made this change in model enjoy the most?

I'm pretty sure the heated screen is standard now, just checked the Skoda website again and doesn't show as an option so fingers crossed.

I too am looking forward to DAB especially for stations I listen to not available on FM!

1. DAB radio (albeit a Columbus with CD drive...)

2. Heated screen - I had one on TIBET II and is standard on the L&K as far as I know - brilliant

3. New Bi-Xenon set up is awesome (and it has AFS adaptive headlights)

4. LED tail lights

5. The look of it generally

6. Brown interior really good with Tibetan Bronze

7. Black and silver Origami wheels (just to annoy Johann)

8. You'll love the pano roof if you didn't have one before

9. Park assist is amusing and clever

What colour have you ordered?

Gone for Candy White as car was already built and at port of exit.

Whats the issue with the Columbus then? Had no nav in the Elegance.

The Elegance had xenon lamps, does the L&K set up or 2015 model year differ on these?

I'm looking forward to the pan roof and entertaining friends with Park Assist!

No problem for me with the Columbus but I think it's been replaced now.

Bi-Xenons now have extra halogen bulb inboard of the main Xenon lamp. That does the 'flashing' bit and comes on with the Xenons for high beam. Absolutely brilliant.

In addition, AFS adaptive lights. Changes beam pattern with speed and road conditions (ie rain) and at low speed, offside main beam wanders over to the opposite kerb.

Tibetan white is good!

I have a new L&K. It has no Columbus nor has a CD player. I think it's called the Amundsen Plus NAV or something.

Basically, it has 2 SD slots. One has the NAV maps and the other you can use for music etc. You can use the touch screen to flip through the album artwork like you do on the iPhone. However, it's not really required as you can simply use Bluetooth from your phone for music/audiobooks etc. The unit works well and sounds good too. I like the way all the radio stations have their logos displayed on screen.

The satnav is fast and easy to use also. No hard drive nor moving parts should be good for reliability too.

Dealer did mention lack of CD player and brochure does show Amundsen nav, so I guess that's what is coming on mine. Sounds good.

Don't take that heated screen for granted, make sure it IS part of the package

I loved the one I had in my Focus, and really miss not having it.

However not all good news. No alloy wheel choice (there are 3 on the elegance), no roof colour choice ( again 3 on the elegance) and no seat fabric/ colour choice (there are 4 on the Elegance).

I still don't understand why the "flagship" model restricts user choice & personalisation.

I would imagine with the list of options actually available on the L&K ( as per Urrell,s list), quite an decent list anyway, I for one would buy it as it already comes, without having to worry about choice of wheels, seat choice or roof colour. For me it is the ultimate Yeti.
