vrs tdi manual estate, with dtuk crdt+ box... 8.5 miles commute from 150metres aod, to above 250m aod, big hills... Plus loads of back roads and site visits... currently at 47ish mpg with 2000 miles from new... I don't hang around when Im driving either....

Manual petrol Mk3 vRS hatchback. Normal work commute is about 15 miles - 1 mile urban, 4 miles 70 mph, 8 miles of 40-50mph, 2 miles urban. Driving solo I tend to get 35-38 mpg.

Just come back from a couple of thousand miles that was almost all high speed motorway cruising with some short urban stuff in-between, with a couple of passengers and the boot full (and I mean full) of luggage with some more on the backseat. That was returning about 32-34 mpg. Overall average on the 8,100 miles to date is about 35.5 mpg.

1 year old, 17000 miles, steady 52.5mpg but as high as 60 on some journeys with my vRS TDi hatch manual.

I do a lot of motorway driving, but includes M25 so a lot of stop-start action. I am what you might describe as an enthusiastic driver who makes good progress!!

I bought the car as I took a job 40 miles away to save on commute costs and it has fit the project brief perfectly. A truly brilliant car - I still look back longingly after parking up, still wanting to get back in and drive even after my horrible commute!

VRS TDi manual estate here.

Has done 14,000 miles and I have averaged 52mpg over that. I do 30 miles a day commuting on quiet A roads, and some running about at weekends. I'll use the power when I want, but my commutes are done at 50-55mph which makes a big difference to the mpg.

Petrol Hatch Vrs - 8 mile journeys to work barely gets warm, 30 mpg is all i get...but to be fair, I didn't buy it for its mpg! :D

Tdi DSG, mostly round trips of 75 miles each, a little bit of round town work thrown in, average over the last 3k is 44.4mpg
