Annoying Columbus phone presets get forgotten?

Featured Replies

Hi

Looking for ideas really?

So iphone 5 s sync's and works ok with the Columbus unit in my 2010 elegance

However when I set the presets (quick dials) on the Columbus it seems to loose them at random points. So i re-enter them and then a few days later they disappear?

Done a factory reset and still doing it...any ideas or I am missing something?

Thanks

Mine don't appear when I first start the car and take varying amounts of time to come back on screen, but they do appear at some point.  Do they disappear at particular times i.e. when you switch on the engine first or does it happen mid journey?

They are just not there from the point I start the car up.

The phone sync comes back as 'ok' and I have left it before for what I consider a long time (say 15 mins) and then they are still not there. The phone book is available straight away

Once they have gone they seem to be gone forever and I then re-add them

Out of interest how long do you think it takes for yours to appear?

Thanks for the reply BTW

About a minute or so after the cold start. Phone book loads a way before.

Mine's the same, can't rush to dial a preset!!

Maybe three minutes or so for mine to appear but usually not longer than that.  I have a iPhone 5 and I do notice that since upgrading to iOS8 I am getting the odd issue with connectivity and phonebook entries not appearing as they should etc.  I have heard Bluetooth issues with iOS8 - maybe get the latest version to ensure that any bugs are sorted.  I think Bluetooth was mentioned on one of the Apple updates.

Hi

Thanks for the info. Got the latest software on my

Phone and funnily enough the presets re-appeared on the way home lol

Am thinking it is more likely to be the phone as every time I get a notification the Columbus switches source from say the radio to blutooth streaming. Again a little bit annoying

Think I might delete the phone and start again and see if that makes a difference, this time without the media connection

Cheers

I noticed mine did this recently.... The only thing I could think of is that I had added a couple of numbers to the contacts on the phone a couple of days previously and it had come up with the "updated phone book" message on the Columbus so is it that when the phone book updates it wipes the presets?

I put them back in again and they have stayed there since..... I keep meaning to add another number to the phone's contacts so it updates the phone book on the Columbus to see if it wipes the presets again but not got round to it as yet.
