Some good feedback thanks everyone. So 250 miles a tank roughly?

It depends on how you drive and what sort of roads you're driving on. I do shortish (15 mile) commutes most of the time, probably 4 miles of dual carriageway national speed limit, 8 miles of 40-50 mph, and about 3 miles of urban. Normally get 375-400 miles a tank. Short of accelerating from every standing start like I have a rocket up my arse, or doing licence-losing speeds on the dual carriageway (or being stuck in lots of traffic), I've not going to get much less than 350 to a tank, because there's not much scope on the roads I use to be too lead-footed.

Fill the car and boot up with passengers and luggage and sit on the motorway doing 80, and you'll get less. Drive around town at 20-30 mph most of the time, you'll get less.

I've had 411 miles from a tank, about 15 done with the range showing zero, and squeezed and 49 litres in so it might have made 420 before spluttering to a halt.  That was 85% motorway, 10% fast a road and 5% in London but late at night with little traffic.

After 27 tank fulls, my manual TSI has returned highest 325 miles and lowest 229 miles per fill. I have only broken the >300 barrier on 4 occasions.

 

Most of my driving is in-town.
