Low voltage detection

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the internal electrics, ie the 12v sockets shut down if the battery voltage drops below a set level. If say a cool box or dash cam were to be left plugged in whilst parked up. Used to have a BMW that did this after a given time, I know Octavias don't have this system.

Sorry if misunderstood, I know they don't shut down on a time basis, due to my USB plug is still lit up on a morny. What I'm asking is, does it they switch off if a power source in it drains the battery to a dangerously low level where it may not start the engine.

I don't think the MK3 Octy or even the current Golf/Leon have any battery management, so your battery will continue to run down until its flat.

My Audi has it, but then it was a hideously expensive car when it was new.

Thanks, will go down the route of moving the fuse to ignition only position as mentioned elsewhere.
