Wor Skoda booked in for her last free, i.e. Skoda paid-for service

Sigh!

At least being a late 2010 car we are good for 5 years or 140,000 miles on the timing belt.

So

(i) How long could I risk pushing the timing belt past 5 years, but perhaps not to 140,000 miles (100,000 sounds like a nice round figure)

(ii) Whats the odds she excretes the odure once out of the 5 year extended warrenty period?

(iii) Is she, the engine likely to be good for 200,000 miles?

Need to get the 1998 Steyr Puch back on the Road as a reliable backup veh perhaps.

I've read recently - can't remember where - that taxi drivers dont rate the 1.6 cr unit for longevity. I've also read horror stories regarding egr and horrendous costs.

Apparently the 2.0 cr lump is far better.
