Anyone got a Citigo (or any other car) wrapped?

Featured Replies

So, I ordered a red Citigo, I love the look of it with a black stripe but its very expensive from the dealer.  I negotiated a great deal with everything else so spending so much on a sticker would irk me.

However i've been looking at car wrapping websites sites (a faiarly new concept to me) and it seems I could get a black stripe for a lot less, or for the price of the stripe from the dealer I could have a Union Jack on the roof, which I have got to admit would be pretty damn cool.

Anyone got your car wrapped?  Can it cause issues? Or is it no bother at all to get them off?  Can you actually take the car to a carwash? lol

Thanks!

Well, I thought about it, but I can't find a 15m by 8m sheet of paper that I like! ;)

More seriously, BossFox had one of his R35s done, so look at his Skyline thread in the "Member's Cars" forum.

Thanks I will check that out,

Just got a call from the company, apparently on a Citigo a Union Jack across the entire roof would be £148   and to get it off you just apply heat and pull.

That is awfully temping, from my dealer the black skoda stripe is twice that....

Or maybe get a quote for a black roof wrap with large Skoda logos and name showing both ways, like the roof decals on the vRS2000 Fabia

I just think the union flag on a 'non-English' car looks a bit odd, from a personal point of view

Very true I do get that argument and im very open to suggestions.

Id love to say I had bought a British car but we don't exactly make a lot of those these days in the lower price range and I felt a Corsa was massively overpriced unless you meet the very specific conditions they make up ie being in a certain union.    I've always wanted the Union Jack roof on a car since I was a kid, I saw it on a Citigo once (may well have been on here) and just thought it looked good.  But yea its a bit odd on a a car from the Czech Republic lol

Having spent 24 year in the Royal Navy I consider the Union Flag is the correct term :) and would look good on a white car. I think the blue 3 lions would look great on a red roof. I spent 2.5 years on the good ship Cornwall.

Terminology[edit]

The terms Union Jack, Union Flag, British Flag are all historically correct for describing the de facto national flag of the United Kingdom. Whether to call it the "Union Jack" or the "Union Flag" is a matter of debate by many. According to the Flag Institute, a membership-runvexillological charity,[7] "the national flag of the United Kingdom, the Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories is the Union Flag, which may also be called the Union Jack."[8] The Institute also notes:

It is often stated that the Union Flag should only be described as the Union Jack when flown in the bows of a warship, but this is a relatively recent idea. From early in its life the Admiralty itself frequently referred to the flag as the Union Jack, whatever its use, and in 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that Their Lordships had decided that either name could be used officially. In 1908, a government minister stated, in response to a Parliamentary question, that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag".[9][10]

I have my Citigo's front end, door sills, rear bumper top and front lights wrapped in clear 3M film to protect from stone chips etc.  I've been using car washes for 2 years with no problems.

In the end I ended up just going for the standard citigo stripe.

I picked up the official kit on ebay very cheap (if its not the official Skoda one it will be going back) and found a place that will put it on professionally for £30.   My dealer offered to do the same thing for erm £254

There's a Matt Black Wrapped Citigo somewhere
