Anyone recognise this car - LR59JZO - possible scam?

Featured Replies

I am missing my DSG terribly and was quickly scanning fleabay when I came across the following advert:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291380606942?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D291380606942%26_rdc%3D1

I am sure I saw someone on here selling this last year for nearer £10k and at the time wished it was petrol.

I am pretty sure at less than £5k, its a scam, but couldn't see the usual email address? Maybe the delivery can be arranged' quote is the only give a way?

Should be nearer double that price?

That's what initially got my attention but when I looked at the pics, I am sure someone on here was trying to sell this last year.

|I don't know for sure, but the links I got included a 2011 car for about £6800, and the seller has supplied a landline contact number, not a mobile. If I cared, I'd be more concerned about the lack of mileage and service data.

There will be no car, the pics will be just generic ones found on the internet from a previous sale.

The landline does not necessarily mean anything, the seller has the item location of Yorkshire but the landline dialling code is Chichester on the south coast.

Looking at the rest for sale, 9-10K should be correct price.

If anybody has any definite info, then it should be reported to EBay they can take any appropriate action

It is now saying £4800, with a new cambelt/water pump and DSG service and 55K miles - bargain - you would think!

Looks dodgy either that or desperation to raise funds either way you would run a mile from this. Just not worth the risk.

Anyone rung the landline number to enquire?

The seller has 205 feedback although never sold anything.

If it's genuine then it's a bloody bargain!

Looking at the description he's retrofitted a few things and had coding done so might be a member on here.

Listing removed. Take from that what you will.

Wow!!!!

The depreciation in only two months would make even Alfa Romeo owners cry.

The rest of the story would be quite interesting.

I think the story goes along the lines of..... Yes the car is still for sale but its in France / Spain etc. Pay a deposit and it will be delivered to you. The car does not exist and therefore never gets delivered however the 'seller' disappears with your deposit never to be seen or heard of again!

Maybe its a cat d or stolen recovered?

Why not contact the bloke that bought it on here ? DVLA shows taxed and MOT'd. He might be interested to know his motors for sale !!
