Is SIII the best looking hatch in its segment?

Featured Replies

We just bought a new washing machine and it went in my twin door no problems.

But removing it up & over the boot lip might be a problem, all that concrete inside makes them a bit heavy......

I do miss my old Mondy wagon, if we do buy a Superb 3 it will have to be an estate.

  • That's what you call 'Best looking hatch in its segment' (this statement doesn't include rear wiper though!  )   Now, how about this??? http://www.carscoops.com/2015/03/2017-skoda-superb-drop-top-r

That's a shame but it is good they have gone for a pure hatchback rather than a pure saloon.

BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes C Class, VW Passat etc. all have big boots but aren't much use as very little will pass through the tiny saloon opening.

I do prefer the looks of a saloon over a hatch/estate which is why the S2 appealed; saloon shape, hatchback opening.

I'll happily sacrifice the twindoor for a rear wiper though  :D

I have no problem with the twin boot being dropped. As a taxi driver I am forever opening the boot as you can imagine, but trying to get people's weekly shopping into the boot with the default opening is a nightmare. If they have more than two bags I tend to open it as the hatch. Every taxi driver I know of who has owned the pre FL SII has had problems with the boot.
