Driving Modes

I've noticed that the VRS button lights 'Orange' when VRS AND Eco mode are selected. But lights 'Green' when Normal mode is selected. Just wondering why it shows Orange on Eco mode?!

It lights up to indicate a mode other than normal is selected. The green is just a backlight.

Because they didn't think it through. Imo it should have s different colour for each mode. Kind of glad mine has the standard Mode button now.

It has modes other than Vrs mode...? why on earth..? :D

Indeed.  The only time mine comes out of Sport mode now is when I'm on the motorway - then it goes into Eco as I tend to bumble along at 65mph and the sound generator does get a little annoying in those circumstances.

I have to admit, I tried that once on the way down to the Plain, but I lost mpg efficiency!!!!, so went back to vrs, where its stayed....

Mines in Sport Mode most of the time unless i'm on the Motorway, Love the noise at high rev's too.

Indeed normal is as the car would be without drive mode selection (its optional in most other markets not standard fit like in the UK. It simply is giving some visual feedback advising that a mode is selected (I guess normal isnt really a mode whereas eco, sport or individual is).

Sports mode on the 150 TDI is carp by the way, normal throttle is much stronger and better modulated. The only thing sport is useful for is steering mode.

Never bothered with eco mode, in individual mode all the time............ :D

Normal throttle, sports steering and eco AC?

Normal throttle, sports steering and eco AC?

Everything normal, apart from steering which is sport..............steering for all MQB cars seems to be  **** in normal!.............

Does it make that much of a noticeable difference? I've never been able to tell much change in the est drives I've had.

I had a golf GTD for a weekend as an extended test drive (Skoda would only allow me an accompanied drive - lesson there SUK) and made my young children laugh by changing the modes. When in ECO mode, I'd talk like Neil from the Young Ones, and drive slowly with nice gentle steering inputs. I'd then stick it in Sport mode and start shouting, jabbing at the throttle and sawing at the wheel.

I assume that this will become tiresome after 6 months in the vRS when we get it in April :D :D :D :D

To the steering yes........you will notice it if you just drive normally & NOT play around for the kids........................ :D

Yes, it is a must have for the steering. BTW I find it really precise and satisfying (when in sport), even after coming from a 320 with M suspension setup.

Anyway my feedback differs from pipsyp's since everything but the aircon sticks to sport.
