fit my tip today

Featured Replies

So I fit my tip and dv today. Was abit of pain to be honest. Had to relocate route my occ pipes and mess around with everything that connected to the tip. Only problem is I think I need to rotate it more. It didn't seem to want to go much further than how it is now. Will everything still work correctly with the pipe like this?

The only way to find out is to take it for a drive :)

The tip looks fine by the way

That route looks a little off as the DV is close to the cam cover. You may end up getting rubbing.

The SFS oversize tips are a pita to fit correctly and need some helping to route properly especially to those ramair filter and heat shield.

Same set up and mine but i managed to twist TIP to a better position.

Can't explain your overheating as maybe not related and just bad luck. Sounds like your water pump impeller may of broke from the pump spindle (common) so is not spinning with belt.

I had that too

The dv is pretty chear of the car cover and shouldn't touch. Might try straighten it up. The clip on the turbo side is a pain to undo and do up lol

Managed to turn it a fair bit. Had to get a helping hand. Was a pain to get it how it is now.

Can anyone tell me if this pipe resting on the material will do any harm?

How did you fit the tip ive got one ready to go on mine i know how the upper part to the original tip come away but how do you remove the actual metal part thats attached to the turbo?

It all comes off in one piece. Undo everything from the tip. Get under the car and undo the turbo end. There is also a bolt that holds a hose on the side of the bloc. I removed that too but couldn't get it back in but it won't move so I'm OK with it. There is a guide on how to do it. I'd recommend two ppl to fit it as it's hard to get it straight on the maF.

Yep the oversize tip is a little fiddly to fit due to it's size but not impossible on your own. Need car up in the air ideally. If you have std tip then you will need to remove the tip to turbo Allen bolt as they are not fixed on Turbo with jubilee clips like the silicon ones. Also recommend you undo coolant line that runs down side of block to allow new tip to be pushed down easier. It is a trial and error job to get tip on turbo and clamp up. From underneath car clean any oil off turbo to make sure the tip clamps nice to turbo and before you tighten right up fit to MAF so you can twist and get best position that has no rubbing on cam cover or anywhere else. Then tighten the jubilee clips right up. You can tighten up the coolant line Allen bolt or leave it as can be a pain. I managed to do it. Good luck.....[emoji2]
