P.S the vin ends in 235464 this is the body number, is that showing it's an estate or is a unique body number to my vehicle?

VDCS scan says body type: 1K0

what does that mean?

Got it in one. Combi is generally used on the Continent.

Correct

But mine will always be an estate, none of this euro claptrap

Can anybody answer the second question, is the body number : 235464  unique to my car if so where can I find it?

I've never come across a body number, only a chassis number

The complete VIN including body number is unique to your car. The VIN can be found bottom left of the front windscreen, and is also attached to the right front suspension dome.

ELSAWIN refers to the final 6 digits of the VIN as being the body number. HTH.

I call mine a stationwagon, when I'm not calling it other things!

That's just wrong.......you'll be calling it a shooting brake next :(

finally logbook says L&K while vin decoder says Elegance, car has all the toys but no L&K or ELEGANCE badges how can I tell?

@Brimma -- you says yours is always an estate -- not according to your profile under your user name LOL!

But I'm with you -- I have 2 Octavias, 1 hatchback, and 1 estate.

Mike

Now rectified :)

My 2008 L&K states Elegance on the decoder backing up what Mike says. It is very annoying on insurance searches as I always have to manually enter the details for the car instead of simply putting the reg in...

Saying that there are far worse problems to have with a car!

@Brimma

I've called it FAR worse! ;-)
