I read in the Plumbers guide a note on the 16 inch wheel tyres speed index:

 

Note for European owners with the 125kW CFJA engine (from WK22/10); 16" rim's fitted with 215/60 summer tyres now require a speed rating and load index of 95W according to the Skoda Germany tyre guide.

 

I have a 2009 4x4 170 model, about to buy the 16 inch alloys,

and I am wondering if it is required for me to have W speed index when I buy the 215/60/16 tyres?

So if it is to judge by the new user manual there is no need

for W speed index even in the 170 version with 16" wheels!
