After a break of 20+ years; it's Skoda again!

Featured Replies

Dear All,

Firstly I would like to say big thank you to whoever is running this forum and whilst I hope I won't need to rely on it too much, it is much appreciated that such level of user-based support exists - thank you!

Now....introduce yourself...

I used to drive Skoda 105L back in early 90s, it was a great car that got us to Croatia and back, although when driving through the serpentines one had to be careful not to keep the foot on the brakes for too long as they had tendencies to heat up rather quickly - I guest I was not intended for the hot weather climate ;o) - the other issues were the thermostat not opening but it was easy to simply take it out and drive without it during summer. oh, I almost forgot, it had a choke control inside, near the handbrake - and if you forgot to reduce the choke, your mpg would drop and the white smoke behind you was the only reason for making pedestrians' heads to run.

Then, after toying with mainly French cars (Citroen, Renault) with a brief spell with Ford and I am a proud owner of Skoda - again!

My garage:

Skoda Octavia mk3 Estate 1.4TSI Elegance

+ an old runner to keep the wife away from my new Skoda ;o)

With best wishes,

Lukey

Welcome to Colin's fantastic website, Lukey. I think you will be blown away by the differences between the 105L and your new Skoda! :)

Welcome to the forum

Welcome back! ;)

Also just joined, and after a similar length of time away from the Skoda brand - had a 120l Estelle and a Favorit (pre VW)
- also just got an Octavia :)
Good luck etc! :)
