Not taxiing now but south Tyneside was my patch. had a fair few different cars in my time and used to rent them out. I did have an Octavia mk 1 4x4 turbo on with a hackney plate for around 6 months, felt that the fuel bills would be lower than the ford dealers repair bills on a death rattle Mondeo tdci I used to have. it was Caledonian Blue and was an ex Strathclyde plain wrapper police car. Got a print out from them and they got rid at 40k . **** hot on the road and wouldn't slide like an audi a4 Quattro I used to have on. Those were the days !!!

Dave?

Dave?

Yeah,why, who's this???

Its Rob mate worked with you at dial a cab it was when you said you had Audi quattro I put 2 and 2 together, I had the Vectra.

I was racking my brains to work out who you were and surprisingly I did think it may be you. I remembered that you left to go to Nissan. Is that you in westmorland or are you still in Dunlop where you were.

Still in Dunlop mate. What you doing now then?

Just noticed this wee section!

I've been a private hire driver in Barrhead (near Glasgow) for just over 3 months. Initially rented a mk2 Octavia DSG up until last week when I finally got the licence and plates on my mk3 Octavia SE.

Had quite a few passengers comment on how nice the car is, and must admit it looks the part! Not really impressed with the 44.8 mpg i'm supposedly getting though....

I'm just up the road in East Kilbride mate, I've got a 2012 Greenline Superb and over the last 1400 miles it's returned 39.5 mpg...... Pretty poor but i recon the 1.6 engine is too small in the Superb, I bought it as it was an Elegance spec and thought the engine would be fine, wrong its sluggish!

I bought a stage 2 DTUK box and getting 51 now, but yeah the engine is pretty sluggish standard. Put the foot down and there's a wee bit of power then nothing lol

Ferrying the lovely people of East Kilbride to where they want to go

EKCO for 22 years and seen the light and moved to Kelvin.....

Wish mine was getting 51

You should use Fuelly as this gives real life figures and not the lies that your MFD is telling you...

I also know of 2 Superb 1.4  TSI Petrols on the system if you think yours are under powered

See your motor when I fill up :D .

You need to do a fill to brim to get a starting reference then you can do part fill ups from there..Its in the FAQs on Fuelly and there is a forum as well.

You not going for the 18" Superb wheels and I will buy your 16"s

I was even thinking about buying the 18s as a winter set to save my multispokes  :dull:

Aye I want to as mines doesn't look like an elegance from the outside and those 18's would finish it off perfectly, but then I speak to people running 18's and they say it's a nightmare with potholes etc.

What do you drive mate?

I'm joining the force down here in East Sussex! I shall get a small thread going shortly in this section to see the progress/damage caused by punters!

I will be a Private Hire driver and I've just traded in my Octavia VRS TDI Manual for a Superb Mk2 FL Elegance on a 14 plate with 28k on the clock.

It gets fitted next week
