7 months later... Still a dead car! Yep you read that right 7 months and still not running CANBUS

Featured Replies

OK please help with advise as I am out of my depth here..

My wifes car 7 months ago was running nice and then died !

wouldn't start.

Had the ECU sent away and it was fine. They deleted the immobilizer as they all thought that was the issue.

Anyway it came back still will not start back and forth and lots of head scratching..

in the end the car was towed to another garage who did this type of work eg electrical canbus stuff.

so it's now being said it's the ABS ECU that is not communicating with the ECU and that needs replacing £700

1st question i am going to ask is.. can a second hand one be swapped over ( reprogrammed to match ? )

is £700 for a new one decent?

:-/ no one know then> that's a worry?

I can't help with the actual problem, but has your car been scanned using vcds? If so did it show up any error codes and what were they. Good luck.

What car is it?

Mr Dillon is certainly one hell of a knowledgeable guy! Thanks for sharing.

Again many thanks for sharing , a very informative video that explains testinhg of can bus signals, have learned a lot from it.
