I kept existing ones in as they are but loads of people use Ibiza ones or cut their existing ones to make them shorter

Also is there a mount that the bumpstops fit on at the rear or something ?

Asking because I bought a pair and the mechanic who's fitting my coilovers says they are the wrong ones as they dont fit. And he showed me them on the damper he took off.

My front drop links catch a bit when on full lock but nothing serious. I have some ibiza bump stops to go in the rear at some point

It will be the drop links catching the arch liner I can imagine. Mine does it.
