Any tips or pointers.

Hi I'm broadening my horizons on the car front viewed a few golf estates and not tidy enough for the money tbh.

I'm going to have a look at a Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0 CR estate on a 58 plate and 81000 miles at the weekend, any car related problems I should check whilst viewing it?

And what are the running costs like compared to a mk1 skoda Fabia VRS.

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

.

ive a 11 plate and used to have a fabia vrs mk1. running cost wise id say its slightly more expensive on fuel and think dealer service's is a little bit more . what I will say is a miss my old fabia probably everyday or at least every week it was a great car if I could turn back time id have kept it.

Came from the same, a Mk1 Fabia VRS to a 2010 Octavia VRS diesel. Like eddh, I sometimes miss my old fabia, but because the Octavia is a much nicer place to be and running costs aren't much more, I don't regret making the change.

Had a jag x type before the Skoda. It was a piece of crap so got the Octavia CR 2010. Far superior (apart from the seats). Much better performance, more room, much better on fuel and much, much more reliable. I know it wasn't a fabia but just to give a comparison. Love the octy. Had 11,000 miles on it and 6 months old when we got it. 60,000 miles and 5 years old now. Change the oil and filter every 5000 miles. So far, never let us down. Will keep it until it dies.

1.8 TSI are bargains at the moment because everyone is scared to death of the alleged "timing chain issue"

Mine is a 58 reg and remapped to 210HP... absolutely brutal 50-70mph in 3rd gear  with 40+ mpg

£2500 anyone???

If this was VW or Audi  it would be £7K easy
