Android Wear or Pebble, anyone got one?

Featured Replies

Android wear watches look like they are getting better, the Moto360 is one I'd go for if it wasn't for the black section at the bottom of the screen, and there should be a 360 version 2 coming soon. Pebble have the colour screen Time on Kickstarter, and the battery life on those kicks Android out of the park. They both have their pros and cons, I'd rather have a round screen though.

I have a pebble but it's the original one and now a gear 2 , love them the gear is much better but battery life about 3 days

A mate funded the original pebble on kickstarter. Has it setup with his iphone. It's definitely cool and a talking point and big enough to be seen to be a tad different.

I have a small wrist so the Android Wear watches aren't suitable as they're too big although I probably wouldn't wear one anyway due to the very short batterylife.  I like the look of the new Pebble due to it being smaller and slightly curved but will have to wait a while for it to be released.

For now I've opted for a Garmin Vivoactive which is a cross between a fitness band and smar****ch powered by Garmin's new Connect IQ system.  I'm pleased with it so far as I was wanting something fitness orientated and it's small enough to be comfortable to wear all the time and its transreflective display is very power efficient meaning it can be on all the time and batterylife is quoted at three weeks.

LG watch looks quite nice, agree the 360 is also better looking than the iWatch.

Not something that really interests me despite being someone that really likes watches.

I've got a Gear 2 Neo and it is decent enough thought I'd like to see a few more apps, Google Maps for example. I installed Gear Navigator and it does a good enough job, navigating me around London by foot recently. I use Endomondo with it, great for recording my rides. Battery life is good enough for me, I just pop it on charge every night when I go to bed. I guess it means I'm locked into Samsung but my last three phones have been Galaxys, I like the product so I don't really mind. No real niggles with it so far.

I have a Sony Smar****ch 3 (replaced my quite flawed Sony 1st gen), I find it really useful for checking texts/emails and filtering out anything that needs immediate action.I've also surprised myself by finding the step counter really interesting, and the gps capabilities are invaluable while cycling (as my phone is sometimes not with me or deep in a back pocket.). Only thing I wound change is it needs the steel strap!! Hopefully they will release it as a separate accessory soon. I spent a lot of time researching the smar****ches before I purchased, the Asus one looked very good if it had actually been the equivalent of $200 (£130 at the time) and the LG G watch r was my top option until sony announced the steel strap, which made the Sony one look the part (the Sony one appears the best specced, just not the best looking). Hopefully that helps! :)

The Sony sw2 was listed today on hotukdeals for only £70 from Amazon

You can get an as new (unwanted gift) sw3 for about £100 (if patient) on ebay, well worth it from what I read about sw2
