please explain ceramic coats

Featured Replies

It's another minefield of detailing products

It certainly is....and a bank account swallower

...and a hell of a lot of snobbery attached to some too

Too right there Chris. I use a lot of products made by a company local to me. On par or if not better than a lot of the screamed about brands for a lot less money

Quite

I have just begun using Power Maxed products (Sponsor as well in here)

Ive found them to be excellent..Simply nothing fails to deliver and at a fraction of the 'Screamed about' ones

So some of these ceramic coatings are tricky so justify the accredited professional application then, OK. However the carbon collective stuff linked above that is OK to diy, a good clean is essential but then straightforward to apply, OK. I'll go with that then. Thank you for all the advice.

Easy to diy, anyone could apply it.

Just make sure you wear the gloves so it doesn't coat your skin :)

Yes..As Damo says...Easy peasy

Excellent, the Borbet  rims will get a coat in readiness for next winter then, and my Skoda Gemini rims will be thoroughly cleaned once removed and coated ready for the summer.  Or.... If I'm really keen the Gemini might get removed, cleaned, coated and refitted... Then again maybe not.

BTW, were do you guys buy IPA?

I bought my last lot from HERE

Unfortunately they are out of stock

Ill search for you

Yeah, CYC seem to be out of stock of a few things at the moment.

I'm waiting for a `Metro Vac Sidekick Blaster` which they (and Polished Bliss) are out of stock of.
