Thule Rapid System Roof Rack For Octy Hatch?

Featured Replies

I've got a Thule rapid system rood bars and cycle carrier, last fitted to my Saab 9-3. I was expecting to just pick up a new fitting kit to pop it onto the Octy.

But no! It's a whole new thing needed according to Thule? Which doesn't even seem to use those pop-off holes in the strip on the roof! Tucks in around under the doors.

Can anyone shed any light - what kit do Skoda sell? Does it use those holes neatly?

Oh the things we do to move stuff that won't fit in the back!

I guess I'm the only person that wants to put anything on the roof then!

The skoda website does not seem to list a cycle carrier for the hatch at all, although they have one for the estate.

They do a roof box

that attaches to the rails. part number LBT 071 031A

I've used those rails that attach under the doors and they're rubbish. Get the Skoda ones crossbars which use the holes on the roof and then you should be able to use your cycle carrier as before.

I'll have a word with my dealer...

Cheers guys.

A friend of mine had something similar, went from a Saab 9000 to a Pug 406 to a Saab 9-5 and is now on an Octavia. Same rails, different attachment mounts. Mount prices seem to vary from marque/model to marque/model. I think Thule or their retailers pick a price. Think his cost about

If its the rapid fit system then you may be able to swap most of the bits. However, www.roofracks.co.uk may be able to help you.

He must have fitted it on an Octavia Estate? I can find the fitting kits to fit to the Octy Estate, just not to the hatch.

I'll enquire further.
