Lock/unlock beep

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm not sure if this is the right section for this but just wondered if there was anyone local to me (Eastleigh, Hampshire) that was able to switch off the beep when I lock and unlock the car

I've been to skoda to ask them to do it but they quoted half an hours labour at around £50 and even then I had to tell them it was possible as they didn't think it was

Any help appreciated, thanks

(Car is a MK1 Fabia vRS with satnav/maxidot in case that makes a difference)

I'd do it for free, but I am in East Devon.

Ps, it takes about 30 seconds with vcds

Thanks, bit too far to travel :-(

I figured it probably would but they won't charge less than 30 minutes labour

Don`t know if the same applies to the Fabia but I can do it via maxidot on my Superb Elegance

The maxidot in the 6Y fabia vRS is (no offence to the OP) not much more than a glorified trip computer, as is the one in my Roomster.

Both cars were Not built supporting full canbus, and as such, do not have the capability of your superb.

OctaBen, If you have no joy, Come along to the west meon Hut meet on Tues 7th,  there is always someone there with VCDS who will do it for a pint!

Anywhere near jkm in Portsmouth? I bet Jim wouldn't charge 30 minutes labour for a vcds tweak.

Can't do the 7th unfortunately. Not far from Portsmouth though so JKM may be worth a look cheers

I'd do it but your around 3hrs away from me.

I'm down visiting my folks on Hayling Island this weekend if you want to pop over I can sort it for you.

That would be awesome, not sure what my plans are Saturday yet (have my daughter) but could definitely do Sunday if that's any good for you

I'm out for a family lunch on Sunday, could possibly do early evening.

Drop me a PM with your mobile number and we'll sort something

Check out the Carista iphone/android app as well mate if you have a bluetooth obd reader, downloaded it for my Toledo as I wanted to turn off the locking beep that it came with from the dealer.   It costs £15 if you want to change settings but well worth it for what it lets you do.

If you have no luck, I'm in Lee-on-the-Solent.  I can't make the meet at West Meon Hut next week either.
