Definitely. I've had many estates in the past and a lot have looked as though the back end was an afterthought. Not so with the new Fabia.

Very nice Prog, good colour choice. Looks stunning

Keep it clean now...................

I was hoping that red might hide the dirt.  :D

It looks really good, in my opinion a big improvement looks wise compared with the Mk2. What was the mileage on the Odometer when you collected it?

mine had 6 miles on it.. didn't really ask if they were just testing it.. I was expecting a bit less to be honest but they put over half a tank of diesel in it for me..

I'll be happy if my Mk3 Estate has 6 miles on it when I pick it up on Thursday. In all the years of buying new cars the mileages have ranged from 5 (Wife's current Qashqai) to 49 (current Ford Focus which is my part exchange). Quarter tank of fuel has been the norm.

I collected my new Fabia this afternoon. The sun came out briefly just after I got home so I took a quick photo.  :sun:  It's raining again now.  :rain:

I'll post more when I've driven the car for more than 20 miles but first impressions are excellent. It obviously feels bigger than my Citigo but not overly so and the handling appears very similar on tight bends although I wasn't pushing it. It certainly feels very planted though.

I'm loving the stereo and speakers which sound very natural to my ear. I tried the virtual surround but not for long as it sounded artificial and a bit gimmicky to me. Maybe it's just not suited to '70s progressive rock.  :notme:

The boot is massive for a supermini estate and the seats do fold flat and level with the variable boot floor although it took me a little while to work out how to lift the bases.  :|

I'll let you all know how I get on over the next few days.

Enjoy it mate..

No, a bit of Genesis. Wind and Wuthering to be precise.

Oooh I nearly suggeed that as well . . . good old Peter Gabriel! You've reminded me now so I may be torturing the kids with some old vinyl this weekend.

Actually now I think about it Gabriel had left by then hadn't he?... So it was just Collins Jacket Rutherford and Banks???

Either way its a good album but the kids and the wife will probably not like it :-)

I saw Peter Gabriel live a few months back. His voice is still amazing and he seemed genuinely humbled by the audience's reaction to his performance.

One thing I noticed today, was travelling back up the M6, and as I came to stop underneath the M62 flyover, the dashboard illumination slowly dimmed out and disappeared so you couldn't see any numbers on the speedometer and rev-counter.. very odd.. I didn't have my lights on at the time, just thought it was an odd thing.. I would have thought it would have gone the other way i.e. brighter.  but obviously not.   Anyway, still getting used to it..

I'll have to watch for that.

Looks good Prog!

Enjoy your new Fabia

skodaTDI, when the light drops the display will dim. In bright daylight the dials need to shine brightly to contrast effectively... When it's darker that amount of brightness would glare and is unnecessary. It's an anomaly really because in your case you were just popping into shade and your eyes wouldn't have adjusted. When tech is too clever for its own good!!

Congratulations Prog. Any plans for it?

thing is - it wasn't that bright.. overcast.. but there we have it..

Can change the brightness of the dash in settings. Worth getting it right!
