Carpet Trim and Sill Trim Removal

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm wanting to run some wires in the new Roomster. However the thing is that well built I haven't got a clue how to remove trims.

First of all there is the carpet trim things in the front footwells above your feet.

Also the trims across the inside of the sill area where the door closes.

Then theres the boot side trim panels.

Thanks

The door footwell trims in the rear slot into each other, there is one large locator clip 6 inches approx up the wheelarch forward of that there are at least 3 metal spring clips which are housed in white plastic slide adjust mounts that clip it to the sill.Slide a metal paint scraper in under the rubber door seal, pull it back to look for the clips then using the round end of a spoon [not the sharp blade of a screwdriver] pop the clips one by one out of the sill starting from the rear of the car ,then slide the sill trim piece out of its tuck under by the door pillar.Front sill panels are on similar clips i believe. Can't help you with the boot side panel i'm afraid, not been brave enough to pop that yet.Careful tugging near the wiring runs or you may disconnecy one of the clips of your rear wash wipe hose inadvertantly resulting in flooding your wiring loom and carpets next time you use the rear screen washer.

Cheers but still not too sure if I'm brave enough yet, got some of what I want working temporary for now. Still want to get some of the power feeds done though.
