Hi all, after years of absence and more recently been lurking in the background I figured it was time to say hello :sun:

After almost 9 years of owning a .06 Octy vRS I purchased a 2012 1.6tdi Superb Ambition.

Yes I know coming from a mapped turbo petrol engine to a miserly 105hp is at times like travelling in reverse, but, I have to admit, I love it. the fuel economy is amazing, the cheap car tax lol, the comfort (although the seats seem a bit narrower)

When the Superb II first came out, I loved the front of the car especially the front of it I still prefer the look of it to the newest addition.

NO mods to this car :D  other than wheel centre caps, new black badges and that 'tray' for under the centre armrest (all of which are on order via fleabay)....contemplating mud flaps but I read that they could be a waste of time??

My Briskoda sticker is gone with the Octy ....I cant post pics as I was used to the old format :D

Anyways, after almost two weeks of ownership, I can safely say I thoroughly enjoy the car, could I see myself in the future getting a 140 or a 170?, sure, I still cant travel more than 120-ish, its just that it takes an age to get there lol

Micksvrs seems wrong now, Micksuperb, or superbmick.....This hole I'm digging is getting deeper!!!

Cheers, Mick!

Welcome back - an absence not dissimilar to mine :)

Mudflaps I have found gd on my 2011 estate, genuine skoda items.... Handy fitted too

Mine is silver but tyre black was flicking badly on bumpers sills etc, flaps have totally stopped that

Is there a difference in quality between mud flaps from a dealer and the ones from China?

Managed 59.8 mpg (mostly motorway) last week on a 160 mile round trip.

Today 56.4 mpg, half the distance and a lot of winding roads. Body roll is very evident and I'm still trying to adapt to turtle paced turbo lag LOL

As I mentioned, once the 'bus' is up and running, its a fine comfortable cruiser!

A bloke I know called me on Saturday to say his friend bought my old vRS and was picking it up today.

What (almost 9 year old) car gets sold from a used car dealer in less than 10 days??

Same colour as my last one, I reckon Rosso is the nicest colour in the range!  I'd consider going for it again if I bought another one

MrsMick loves the colour and even though I didn't really fancy it at first, I think it's quite smart!

Yeah, adds a touch of class I think!  Also a bit easier to keep clean I reckon
