Will we see some good deals on the Spaceback stock that exists in the showrooms?  I am mulling over some of the offers on places like Motorpoint and with the dealers.  A 14 plate SE 1.2 TSI can be had for 9k with 10,000 on the clock which is a fantastic saving off the list price.

The major thing for me that the SE and Elegance didnt come with is the DAB and Sat Nav option or indeed the newer mirrorlink technology. Both are stupidly expensive to retrofit and I want this to be a car I can run at 15k per year with these things on.

So am i going to be able to get a newer SE Tech or Sport Model for circa 11/12k when the new models come out?

Or am i best off investing in a new fabia estate SE-L for 13.5k which some brokers are offering now....

Decisions decisions!

When the new models arrive, there is an EU deadline for the old engined stock to be sold or registered so yes there will be bargains.

Some years ago I bought a zero miles pre-reg car for SWMBO at a 33% discount.

The newer model had few changes - only different indicator lenses and upholstery colours. We got 5k discount.

More recently I got over 4k off the Toledo too, and cheap Toledo's are out there now because the SE spec has changed twice in the last 12 months.

Motorpoint - are they flogging ex fleet cars?  Dozens the same spec with near identical mileages?  I am currently (ab)using a fleet of long term lease vehicles which my company has had for the last 2 years.  I wouldnt want to buy one when we let them go in July.

Yes Motorpoint's prices are a great saving over list.  However the Rapid, Spacey, and Toledo are not exactly popular, so very few were ever sold at list price to start with.  Why pay 9k for a (thrashed?) ex-rental when you can buy brand new for 11 or 12k.

I'm currently considering a brand new (64) Toledo I-tech (top spec) for 11995 on autotrader.

My 1.6 came from motorpoint at 10 miles on clock.  Price paid was 12 500 Inc GAP insurance, Has the full Skoda dealer warranty with it.  However I was quoted at dealers they would match the price but they didn't have one in the colour I wanted as slightly used.

Yes, I would buy new from Motorpoint too, if they have what I want in stock.

But I'm not ever buying another ex-fleet car - having been bitten once.
