Just thught it would be nice to introduce myself. I've got my heart set on an Octavia when I change car in about 1 or 2 months time when the funds are available.

A colleague has a vRS that looks tasty but i'm used to diesel type economy being a tight git, so i'm after a 1.9 TDi Elegance on about a '53' plate.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Went out on Sunday for a look around - wifey prefers the look of a Mondeo TDCi but after our current experience with the local Ford dealership i'm put off. Good cars mind and the TDCi is a belting engine.

Fancy a change from 'mainstream' and the Octy fits the bill nicely - the boot is HUGE compared to our current focus. May start looking into a remap when I get one although ultimately it will depend on how much my insurance would go up with it :(

What Focus did you have, there's quite a few ex-Focus owners on here now, myself included.

I've still got the Focus, its a TDCi LX. I like the car although a few niggling faults that the dealership seems incapable of curing has marred ownership.

Looking for something bigger as holidays and weekends away with nipper more than fill up the Focus! Should have the money together next month so its a matter of finding the right deal then

Well, a 53 plate octy with the PD130 engine has a tad more grunt from experience. And as you no doubt know, remaps rather well.

Just a quicky - how will i know if its a 110TDi or PD130 unit without having to rely on the salesmans patter? Any tell tale signage in the engine bay etc?
